RNG Question

Ok. I've just started looking at RNG breeding. I'm not sure how to find my Secret ID value. I've caught some wild shiny pokemon and people say you can get the SID from them. No one's explained to me how that works exactly. I have calculated the IV values for one of them, because someone said I needed to know them. Now what?
