Trading Pokemon from Other Regions

Hey,

I wanted to know if anyone has tried this. My brother is getting a new pokemon game soon, and I thought I would train him some starters from the Johto/Kanto region (charmander, totodile etc.) But it has occurred to me that I might not be able to trade them to him until he defeats the elite four and gets a national pokedex. Obviously, that would suck.

Has anyone tried this before? And how did it go?

you cant transfer GB color games...only GBA Ruby,Sap,EMeral,FireRed,and LEafgreen are the only ones you can transfer

yes that too and you have to go find Palpark. to find it go south from Sandgem Town. surf east and then walk east untill you get to the end and find the Pal Park place.

I see, but i mean I already have (for example) totodile, on my diamond version after beating elite 4 etc. Now is it possible for me to trade him that totodile before he gets even a gym badge? anyone know

umm get totadile in another game and trade because you wont be able to get it in GTF because you never seen one...yah trading from another game is the only way

If u have a pokemon from the national dex like diamond and want to trade it to your pearl game u can even if u havent beaten the elite four on it I no this becasue ive done it. Then if u trade that pokemon before u get the national dex it will....when u eventuly get the national dex be on there.
