Yes, I have Pokemon Leaf Green version. And I chose Charmander as my starter pokemon .

I would pick Charmander - the same as you. Is Leaf Green good?

It's a good game, because it's basically a remake of Pokemon Red/Blue. Also they have got good training places to go to.

I may buy FireRed, I don't know.

I have fire red. I picked charmander as well, and in the end he became my first pokemon at lvl 100 without cheats! But still, squirtle is my favorite... But it's a great game, you don't beat it too fast, even with a book. There's a lot of things that the book doesn't even tell you about (Prima book).

yes that is true, after you got national dex you can catch pokemon you could never catch before in certain areas while that game is in the gba slot
